Blount 301 Understanding and Deconstructing TV is a seminar taught in the Blount Scholars Program by Jeremy Butler, professor emeritus, the University of Alabama.
Course objectives
Students will learn to:
- Dissect TV narrative and non-narrative structures;
- Understand how stylistic elements (e.g., cinematography; set, lighting, and costume design; editing) have an impact on our understanding of TV; and
- Evaluate theories and critical methods applied to the understanding of television.
